Soccer Ball

    Hello,

After watching the video on super gluing PLA parts, I decided to try putting a soccer ball together.

    Method

I downloaded this Model from thingiverse

Using superglue I started with a black piece and slowly worked the pieces together. I made sure the black pieces weren't beside another black piece when I was assembling the ball.

    Result

There are some gaps but overall it was a successful experiment. If someone could explain to me why the pieces didn't fit perfectly together that would be great!

I don't think superglue holds the pieces very well so I may try methylene chloride to see if it yields better results.

Another easy way to connect parts together is hot glue... It's also super strong (since it's melting the PLA)

If you have access to a 3D pen that's a great way to "glue" things together too... It's like welding but with plastic.

The 3D Pen works best, especially with kids as it's a safe and clean way to glue prints together.
